Powdery mildew uses a simplified Gubler-Thomas index: it builds after three days with 6 or more hours between 21 and 30°C, rises 20 a day while that continues, and falls 10 a day when it doesn’t.
Downy mildew uses a rough infection check: hours the leaves are likely wet (rain, or humidity of 90% or more) against the hours needed at that temperature, plus rainfall. It needs 10°C or warmer.
Weather is modelled for the farm’s location from Open-Meteo, not measured in the paddock.
